I was born high up in the mountains, in a village that the Tri-Kingdoms had forgotten.  No king laid claim to us, and we accepted no master.  My memories of childhood are mixed with playing in the small farm fields, and running water and supplies to the village's walls.    Back then, there were no mages or poets in my village, only fighters.  Originally I was taught how to use a sword, but I was always drawn back to the village herbalist, who acted as the village's healer.  Everyday I would go and watch him toil away, grinding up leaves, cutting roots, brewing different potions, hoping that it would help the injured.  Somewhere deep within me, I knew there had to be a better way.
It was during one of the more bitter bandit raids that I truly stepped on the poet's path.  This bandit clan regularly attacked the village, but this time we were taking more casualities than before.  As the wounded overflowed the healer's tent, the screams of the injured and dying pushed me over the edge, and in my temporary insanity, I found....clarity.  The next few moments were hazy to me, but I found myself in the tent laying my hands of one of the injured, then moving on to the next.  Each time, I felt something leave me, the previously injured fighter stood up completely healed and returned to the fighting.  My memory fades here, and it was later that I was told I healed the wounded for 3 days straight, drawing on my own life force when my healings grew weak.
After this instance, the village elders decided it was best for me to travel to the cities, and learn more of what saved my village.  It was at this time that I traveled to Buya to learn the ways of healing.
The loneliness of being new in the cities was the first thing I felt.  The mentality of working in a group, as a family, had been ingrained in me since birth, so being on my own in this unfamiliar place drove me to seek a new family.
Phoenix held many of the same values that I was taught, and so I joined the noble clan.  The Phoenix clan is very dear to me because it was there that I met my blood brother, Ironshield, Kyas, the mother of all Phoenix kin, and the one who planted the seeds of curiousity in my mind about the monks, Saleen.
When I look back on it, I think Saleen knew I was going to become a follower of the Eightfold Path, but he let me do it at my own pace.  I questioned him about the Monk path over the Yuris I spent in Phoenix, and spent many hours in the Bodhi Sanctum, learning as much as I could about this curious group.
Eventually I worked up the courage to ask to join, and Saleen arranged a meeting between his teacher and I.  Now our teacher, Vexiplex, was very patient with me.  There were times when I had to return to my village for extended periods, to help with the defense of the village and teach others the ways of healing.  Each time I came back, Vexiplex took me again as a student.  After a few Yuris of traveling back and forth, I was greeted in the Monk's Circle as one of their own.  It was a moment I will treasure for the rest of my life.
Since then, my life has been filled with adventures here in the Tri-Kingdoms, and back in my home village...but that is a story for another time.
