  nupie
I was born on a cold winter night of Yuri 48. My parents named me nupie. We live in a peaceful town called Koguryo. My father was a Hunter and he would go into deep woodlands for days. Whenever he came back from hunting, he would bring lots of things, meat, lobster, bear skin, wolf skin, wool, honey, and even frosted butterfly for our home decoration.

I've always wanted to come with my father whenever he goes hunting. But he wouldn't let me, "Hunting is not for a girl. It is very dangerous !," he said. One day, when he was getting ready to go hunting at dawn, I crawled out of bed and sneaked out and followed him quietly. At first it was fun and exciting. But as we go deeper into the woodlands, I started to get scared as it was getting dark and I would hear funny noises. So I called out my father. He was very angry, but it was too late to send me back home. So he held my hand tight and brought me along with him. Crrkkk!! Rooaarrr!! A big bear was running towards me and ready to attack me. My father ran in front of me and fight with the big bear. "Run! Run and go back home !,"  he shouted. I started running and running and didn't look back. I got home and told my mother what happened. Then she gather few people to search and help my father. When we came to the woodlands, there I saw my father lying. His body was torn and bleeding. I blame myself for this. If I didn't follow him, his attention wouldn't be divided in protecting me and it would be easy for him to defeat the bear.

From that moment, I studied the art of Healing so that whenever I came across someone in danger, I wouldn't feel so helpless. My mother brought me to the Poet guild master and there I trained very hard to become a Healer. As years go by, I mastered the art of Healing. However, my heart felt so empty. I still blame myself for my father's death. I travel across the Kingdom in search of meaning of life. In my journey across the wilderness, I met this lovely lady. Her name was Sinchan. I was thirsty and she offered me some of her water. We spoke for hours and she taught me about Dukkha and Tanha. She told me about the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. I found out that she was a Monk and I asked her to walk me home and join the family.
