I was born in the land of Path, to my two beautiful parents Jiang-qing and Mu-Pao. We lived in a small house, for they were but servants. I never learned more than a servant needed to know. I was ambitious, though, and knew that there had to be more to life than this. I was always looking for something else, something with a purpose.

When I came of age I went to serve a rich family. But it was not just any family for me, oh no, it would be the House of Han. The ancestors of the Han family had won many wars and had much prestige in Path. When I saw them around Path I was always amazed that a family could be so perfect This was about as close as I was going to get to being like them.

I led a regular life of any other servant, cleaning and running errands. But one day things changed. The daughter, Wang-mu, asked me to help her with her school work. I was the same age as her, but of course, being a servant, knew much less than her. I told her so. She was amazed. She had not known that the school for servants was so different from her private tutors. From then on, she became my teacher. I learned quickly, drinking in knowledge like a man dying of thirst.

It went on like this for many years, until I decided I knew enough to go and start a real life, away from Path, away from slavery. I changed my Family name to Han and ran away and I traveled to many places, looking for myself and a passion, until I came to Buya and Kugnae. I knew this was the place I would settle down. But my knowledge did not do me much good here, as everyone was much smarter and seemed to know so much more. Needing a way to support myself I became a miner.

I was lonely though, I had found no lover on my long journey, and I missed my parents greatly. I still met people though. One of them was part of the clan called Phoenix. He invited me to join, and I accepted. It was everything I could ever want or need. Or so I thought. Although I seemed to have everything I wanted, my life still felt empty.

I set out, looking for what could be missing. Then I found the Monk path. I realized that the daughter of Han had the same beliefs as them. She used her spare time to teach me, she was the reason I was here at all. I wanted to become like her, like the Monks.
