  The Great Shift
To prevent mortals from becoming to complacent with their existence and from understanding too well the ways of the immortals, the gods altered the world. Magical energies have torn through the Nexus, altering the landscape, the creatures, and many once well understood secrets. It is only through great care that the gods were able to spare the mortals from the wrath that altered all else in the Nexus.

It is said that the Kingdoms of Buya and Koguryo were surrounded with positive energies to prevent the corruption or destruction of the mortals. As a result, much of the great forces of evil within the Kingdoms have been driven off, leaving only lesser threats within city walls.

From the Great Shift, new threats to the people of the Nexus have risen. Foul ogres have bred at phenomenal rates and now controll nearby lands. Much more powerful enitities of evil thrive where once all was peaceful and calm. Mythic Nexus has become far more dangerous and the passages to the majestic Vale can no longer be found. It is rumored that beings of great power now dwell among the mythic animals, attempting to coerce them into action to further unknown objectives.

The Sonhi tribesmen and Ilbon pirates are nowhere to be seen. It is unknown whether the gods shielded them from the great shift as well and, if not, what may have become of them.

Perhaps the greatest loss to the Nexus has been the disappearance of the four totem animal shrines. None are certain if these sacred altars are still intact somewhere within the Nexus or if they have been lost forever.

The Nexus is currently in a state of flux. The strain of the Great Shift was great and still the land recovers from it. But in time the chaos will subside, leaving open opportunites for discovery and wealth, wisdom and death.
