  Yingshih

Yingshih was an angry person. She grew up in the outskirts of Buya. She lived with her Grandfather Kamin, who treated her like dirt, and more often than not left her in the dirt. Ying Despised her grandfather for this! She despised her parents for dieing and leaving her with this retched old man. There was one particular incodentthat stood apart fromt he rest. It changed her life forever. This is her story.

CHAPTER 1

"Grandfather, I'm hungry, can I have some breakfast?" Yingshih pleeded, wandering around the kitchen, opening and closing doors. Her stomach growled and she didn't know what else to do.

"No. You're being punished Yingshih! Now recite to me the Olde ways, and the magical code." Kamin sat in his chair in the far corner of the one-room hut they called home. He smoked a tobacco pipe: wich, yingshih thought, smelled dreadful. But Kamin, in his aging years, felt it was his god given right to smoke tobbacco in the house. He had served his duty to the Army and had made a difference to the land.

Yingshih hated the old ways. The old ways made her hungry! All she wanted right now was something to eat, not a lesson!

Kamin noticed the dirty look on Yingshih's face. WHAT A NASTY LITTLE INGRATE thought Kamin. She won't do her duties! Why should she expect to eat and live here when she doesn't pull her weight? I should chastise her for her disloyalty to me.  "Yingshih! COme here little girl."

Ying made her way over, and stopped half way. HE'S GOING TO HIT ME! Ying thought fearfully. I should run away. I should run away right now.

And she did.

Yingshih, barefoot and nowhere to go, instead of going over to grandfather Kamin to respectfully accept her beating, spead out of the house and down the dirt path towards the road. WHERE AM I GOING! She wondered, her mind rought with panic. Yingshih, ofcourse, had no clue where she was headed: as long as it was away from Kamin. THAT WRETCHED OLD MAN! HE WON'T EVEN GIVE ME SOMETHING TO EAT.
Now yingshih became very tired, and needed to rest. Her feet hurt and she was ever so hungry. And ontop of all that, She was lost! Poor yingshih was lost without a friend in the world.
But lady luck was wit her this morning, for She heard footsteps, coming up the path. Yingshih, sitting off to the side and massaging her hurt feet, looked up to see an aged woman. She was dressed in fancy black gowns and wore a large black hat.
"And just what are you doing here little girl?" The tall lady in black querried.

"I..." Yingshih was speachless. She didn't know what to do! Her grandfather tought her not to think for herself, but to do as she was told.

"Come. You shouldn't be out here in the damp. I will take you home." The lady seemed to know who she was. Mistress Tsu had come to have an important discussion with Yingshih's grandfather.
The mistress headed onward to Kamin's hut, with Yingshih in tow. "Here, girl." She said, and handed Yingshih a hard biscuit. "You look to be hungry. Eat something."

Ying liked this woman already!

CHAPTER 2
"So you see Kamin, this will be benificial on all acounts, and on both sides... Your family will be most honoured." Mistress Tsu rambled on.
Yingshih hadn't a clue what was going on
The only words she picked out she understood were such as "marriage... and My son..." Ying sat quietly, obediently. If there was one thing she learned from Grandfather: it was not to draw undue attention to oneself.

CHAPTER 3
~~ 7 years later  ~~

"Today is the day Ying" Kamin said, prouldy. He ushered his grandaughter out the tiny door. Kamin had bought her brand new dress for the occation.
Yingshih straightened the folds of her beautiful red gown. She wore a pearl neclace, and a gold tiara. The Xue family had provided a carriage, which she and her grandfather stepped into. And they were off.

CHAPTER 4
"Vegetable! My love! I am so happy to be here. But was does this all mean?" Yingshih questioned.
"Well you see hun, you're part of the family now!", replied Veg. He sat down on the stone bench.

The two newlyweds enjoyed their moment together in the garden. "Do you remember when we first met Veg? We were so young!

It was my sister who introduced us, when my grandfather had brought me to your families house. Its a shame she isn't

around much anymore, but with her seemstress work and all...
"Where was Bravesoul? It saddens me he couldn't make it to our wedding." Yingshih sighed.

"I am here." Brave stated simply.

"Goodness! You scared me half to death!" Ying's stomach lept into her throught.

"Welcome to our family Yingshih!" Bravesoul bowed low. Brave is the current standing elder of the Xue family. He took

Yingshih's hand and kissed it. "It is with great pleasure that today I welcome you, Yingshih Laelanali into our family."

He turned to the rest of the guests, and family members. "Ladies and gentlemen! Please welcome with honour: Inferno

Yingshih Xue, of Lostkingdom to our family!"

At the reception, Yingshih felt excited. So many people! She felt honoured to be apart of the Xue family, and to be

betrothed to Balistaria Vegetable Xue, of Tiger clan.
