  MuSan Family
My family, called MuSan, was originally part of a warrior tribe from the highlands of Han, called the Sokal. They lived a secluded, austere life as an autarky. Experienced and well trained in arts of the blade, they gained great renown in the Han kingdom. Although they studied and practiced martial arts and possessed great military prowess, they were not belligerent. They sought to maintain their old traditions and codes of honor.

The MuSan family was of high esteem within the community. The founder of the line, SaruMuSan, was non-pareil in the arts of the blade. He was also respected for his rhetoric and political talent, as well as his leading qualities. The congregation of elders had offered him leadership over the Sokal numerous times, but every time he declined, saying both his training and his studies were not complete.

At some point, surviving family records place it before ten Yuri's before the Great Shift, war was brought to the Han kingdom. Invading mongols arrived by ship and raided the highlands. Many tribes surrendered, but the mongols were merciless. The ruler of Han refrained from intervening for reasons unknown to date. The Sokal resisted the enemy invasion bravely, but where overwhelmed by the many agile mounted bowmen. Their codes of honor were ill met with the callous tactics of the mongols.

In the end, the Sokal was the last tribe standing in the area. In one particular battle at Sru-hwan, the leader of the Sokal, ManatoKan, was slain. At that time, SaruMuSan finally assumed leadership of the Sokal. Under his guidance, the tribe managed to ward off many a raid. However, because enemy reinforcements kept arriving by ship and the souvereign of Han still did not come to their aid, the Sokal were ultimately subdued. The tribe was slain, SaruMuSan beheaded. Only one member of the entire tribe managed to flee to distant lands, JenoMuSan.

The mongols pillaged the treasures of my ancestors, as well as those of other tribes, then boarded their ships and sailed home with their spoils, leaving the highlands bereft of life.
JenoMuSan, a valiant and courageous woman, pregnant at the time, made a long and arduous journey through Jinhan, all the way to Nagnang (where she settled down). During this journey, she gave birth to ZinsaMuSan, who would later gain fame as a general in the army of Nagnang.

The MuSan family, henceforth minute in number, managed to sustain a living, teaching martial arts to others and offering their blade to best even the most atrocious of monsters. The curse of their black past has left it's mark on the bloodline. I, ShindanMuSan, now am the last heir to their legacy. My parents settled in Koguryo, where I continued to live after their untimely death (they both fell to the plague that scourge the lands far west when I was young, just as they journeyed there). Soon after their deaths, I found tutelage under master Zoozoo.

I still follow the traditions and the codes of honor that have been passed down the bloodline for generation upon generation. My arm is as fearsome as my ancestor's were, I practice the martial arts, hone my skills through dilligent training and teach others the ways of my family.
