  Mickenna

I walked along the path and heard a noise. Quietly I followed it, doing my best to not be heard. Finally, as I pushed aside the fern leaves I found what I was looking for. It was my brother Koda standing on the edge of the cliff. The cliff overlooked the beautiful clear waters of a lake. There was probably a 10 foot drop from the top of the cliff to the break of water, and with as early as it was in the day, I knew that water had to be cold. Slowly and quietly I walked up to Koda, and just as he turned, I gave a big push and pushed him right off the cliff into the water. He fell, hit the water, sunk, then came back up screaming. "Mickenna! I'll get you for that!" Of course all I could do was laugh, he would never get one over on me!

It wasn't even 5 minutes later when as I was looking over the cliff, I, myself felt hands at the lower portion of my back. They pushed me and over the cliff I went. When I struggled to gain access to the top of the water, I broke through screaming! Just as I thought, the water was like ice. There treading water next to me was my brother Koda but if he was here who pushed me in? We both at the same time looked up to see a woman with long flowing blonde hair and long pinkish robes standing on the edge of the cliff. "Don't dish out what you are not ready to receive little one." She said, then smiled. My brother and I worked our way to the edge of the lake, climbed out and went to dry ourselves off. The woman had built a huge fire to help us get warmed and had even provided us with some food.

She asked where our parents were, and after we explained that they had died in a raid a couple of months back, she took us into her arms and said we were just what she needed. Today, I am proud to be a member of her family, a family of bears, all bearing the name of Kuma. My new mother? Well her name is dee, and I, along with my brother will do all I can to protect her just as she will us.
