  Elvenwood
In a distant land lays an enchanted forest, unexplored and home to an extravagant race of beings.  Elves, Gnomes, Pixies, and many more magical creatures guard the forest and keep the magic that exists within it sacred and protected.  Elvenwood, as it was called, was home to my family.  We spent centuries using magic to protect Elvenwood and our way of life, the life of an elf. The exact moment our family started it very hard to estimate.  We come from a long line of elves, which have flourished since the dawn of magic.  We see each other a very large family coexisting in the world.  Special bonds are often formed between some of us and we recognize each other as immediate family.  As with any of our kind, my family holds certain values and virtues to be supreme and a way of life.  Honesty, respect, loyalty, and diligence are among our qualities.  We posses a great respect for magic and nature; we see beauty in every aspect of life and do our best to uphold it.  We are also a family with great curiosity and a need to learn and develop new skills and knowledge.  Our desire to understand the world better was being sheltered by remaining in one spot.  My family decided that in order to learn and grow, we had to take in more of the world.  This is why we left Elvenwood and ventured into the cities.  When we arrived we realized that we had no surname to connect ourselves to each other.  In honor of our great home, which we had left behind, we took "Elvenwood" as our common surname.  This name holds a great deal of memory for us, as well as a sentimental value, which is hard to express.  As a family we have devoted our lives to truth and compassion.  Although, we each may lead a different lives and set of beliefs as time goes on, we all can share our common link and past.  When our lives and paths take us down different roads of experience and cause us to vary from our heritage, we are always reminded of our family values.  Bearing the honored name of Elvenwood reminds us of who we are and from where we come.  It keeps our family strong and bridges a gap that families and people often lack.  While others drift apart, we remain strong, as Elvenwoods.
