To the east, the rising sun looks over the mountain pass to the west, to a
serene crag hermitage - here, the Dogoma family has dwelled for many moons,
unwavering to any degree of trouble or darkness. The bloodline that is of such a
name is not watered down, and only such few can say they are truly a Dogoma. The
founder of such a family, one of high ideals as firm as the mighty oak, was
Master Komi Dogoma. His skills with a sword and knowledge of the Art of War
could honestly say he succeeded in every battle he fought. He strengthened his
family not through fighting and winning, but through virtue and honor. He was a
man of his word, a man of principle. His wife was one of the most recognized
artists in the land, Kyurai. Her skill with a paintbrush stylus matched that of
Komi's with a sword. She was truly gifted in what she strived at, and so,
through the combining of two talented people, the Dogoma family would flourish.
Through years of peaceful settling, the raising of two sons and a daughter
occurred. Nantook, the eldest son was a soldier by any sense of the word. He was
even considered to be a better tactician than his father. The youngest son,
Tanwe, was a skilled cartographer. He is remembered for his mapping of the lands
of Jinhan and the outer reaches of Hamgyong Namdo. The daughter of Kyurai and
Komi, Derayi, was one of the finest dancers anyone has yet to see. Her studying
of animal movements such as the crane and the panther, led to many dance styles
in which she is accredited. Each of the children grew in their ways, and
ventured out on their own to experience the world through their skills. They
would spread a part for some time until a time of reunion was upon them.
Late into the winter of the 37th year of King Yuri's reign, Komi grew very ill.
Upon his death bed, he sent out his trusted friend, Offren Rentaari, to call
forth his three children to come back home. He was going to give them each
something, and convey his dieing wishes in his last breath. Offren traveled for
days to find the Dogoma kin, and he returned with all of them to see their
father for the last time. Nantook, with his wife (Tessara) and child (Fyetter)
came rushing in first. "Father, I have come to you on this day to hear your
words." Komi told Nantook to be true to his family, and to have faith in
brotherhood. He then handed Nantook a small beaded bracelet. Red in hue, and
sparkling with splendor, the beads were carved with the insignia of the Dogoma
family, and word, "Epitome." At this point, Tanwe came in with his sister Derayi.
All three of the Dogoma children were present, alongside with Mother Kyurai. The
last wishes of a dieing man were for his children to live by the following words
Passion for Honor, in striving to better those around you, Will only strengthen
your family, and yourself.
Those words were remembered by the Children, and passed on down the line to
their children. When my grandfather died, he left a legacy, and passed the
leadership of the Dogoma lineage to my father, and so my father on his passing,
gave it to me. One day, I plan on giving it to my son, and thus the legacy will
be carried on.
