It has been many generations since the days the Dragons roamed outside the caves which they are now imprisoned. However it has been our family tradition to maintain our dragon slaying skills. Thus it is a right of passage for every young Addams member to venture deep into the dragon caves before they are considered a man. We consider it our duty to be prepared to do battle with them if they should ever attack our home again. When I came of age my father gave me the Zar'roc blade which has been passed down in our family for many generations. "You have trained hard my son, it is time you battle the real thing." my father told me. He instructed me to go deep into the dragon cave with nothing but this sword and my spring robes. I was to live like a dragon in the cave for a one full moon. Not until I had slaughtered 10 leaders was I to come out again. To prove that I had done my task, I was to bring him back 10 dragon hearts. He gave me a sack to tie around my waist to place the dragon hearts in. This was no easy task, I quickly learned that the dragons were evil creatures. They attacked and killed anything that moved in the cave, even each other. My biggest ally in the cave was stealth. I learned to slip by them unseen and to watch them from the shadows. They were very strong ruthless creatures, but they were dumb and predictable. I learned to set traps for them, which I made out of various materials I found in the cave. Perhaps one of my hardest trials was the darkness. The dragons could see in the dark, but I could not. My sense of hearing became amazing. Later I learned to use the dragon's fire to light torches which I could use when they were not around. Although this was tricky because the fire would attract their attention, so I tried not do this too often. There were many nights, maybe days (I could not tell the difference), when I thought that I would not make it - but finally I did, just keeping the thought of my Ancestry in my mind. I was an Addams, I could endure anything. So like every Addams Descendent before me, I had proven myself worthy of an Addams, and today I have become Head of the Family. It is now my duty to track down our bloodline and deem them worthy. - Lancin Addams - Direct Descendant and Head of the Addams Family. |
