The Yorugata house, are perhaps best known for their habits of sleeping most of the day and working diligently in the evening and nighttime hours.

The first Yorugata family arrived in Koguryo, not of their own free will, but rather as escaped captives on a pirate vessel coming somewhere from the East.

Kenji Yorugata, Sword of the Dusk, and his wife, Ayame Yorugata, who was sometimes referred to as the Night Wolf, both escaped from the pirate vessel sometime around Yuri 40.

After escaping their fate as slaves, Kenji and his wife settled in Koguryo. Kenji joined the Koguryo Royal Army after passing many difficult trials. Due to his birthright nationality not being that of Korean ancestry, he was often faced with more difficult trials than that of Korean blood. With great will, Kenji had proven himself as a valuable member of the KRA and defended Koguryo against ogre and invasions alike.

His wife, Ayame, had worked on making ends meet while Kenji was away training or fighting for Koguryo's freedom. She found much pleasure in working with herbs and medicines. She practiced her trade and was known for her miracle tea that, if ingested regularly, would relax the body, ease worry, and promote longevity.

The two lived and grew as a couple for the next eight Yuri, with little desire to travel outside Koguryo's boundaries except when necessary with missions from the KRA. On their 8th year in Koguryo, Ayame was blessed with bearing a child.

Although she herself had been quite the medicine woman, the pregnancy was met with much complication. On Yuri 48, Ayame Yorugata gave birth to Akidoshi Yorugata, but died from complications due to bleeding and infection.

Kenji Yorugata survived Ayame and retired from the KRA. After a bout of unemployment and struggles to raise young Akidoshi by himself, he eventually took up trade as a fisherman.

The seas had eased Kenji's pain and suffering due to the loss of his beloved wife. As his son grew older, he took more and more frequent trips out to sea, and the trips also grew in duration. His son, Akidoshi, seldom accompanied him on these trips, but when he did, the two often enjoyed each other's company.

Kenji survives his wife Ayame, and though almost lives solely on the sea, can still be seen at the fish markets on occasion.

His son, Akidoshi, also survives.
