Dear Citizens, It is my honor and privelege to proffess to you my firm dedication to my family, the Xue, and the principles upon which our great family was founded -- peace, compassion, honor, loyalty, and discipline. It was only a few years when I first entered in to the Xue blood pact with Elder brother Bravesoul, and I did not always think I would become a part of this noble family. I have not always known the other members of my family, as I was born an outsider. My real mother and father I hardly remember, I don't even know what happened tot hem. I was instead raised by a kindly gentleman named frOlO who urged to pursue my study of Buddhism. It was while I was a student of buddhism that I met Bravesoul, Denae, and Zefalon. I grew to consider them friends, and spent much time with them training in both body and mind. I always felt a little awkward around them, being the only one not a member of the family. All that changed one day when Bravesoul and I were travelling through the wilderness and we were attacked by a vicious band of thieves. Bravesoul was still young and had not yet attained his first mark and I was an inexperienced fighter. The bandits easily overcame us. Bravesoul, having insulted the leader of the bandits, was being beaten to death as I watched in horror unable to move because I had been tied up. Blow after blow I watched the life slowly seep from him until I could not take it anymore. Exerting a phenomenal amount of mental strength and concentration I summoned eight giant companions of Ming-Ken to aid us against the bandits. The beasts quickly overcame the bandits and were about to kill them when it struck me. No student of Buddha would willfully slaughter anyone, no matter how evil they were. I prayed that Bravesoul would forgive me, and I had the companions halt. Given a temporary reprieve the bandits quickly fled into the forests surrounding the road we were on. I knelt beside my dying friend and took his hand in mine. Focusing what was left of my energy I created a ring of blue fire with healing properties. It saved his life, but I was spent. When I awoke I was in a house surrounded by my companions. Bravesoul proclaimed my deeds to the others and said to me, "Vege, you have saved my life and in your actions you displayed every trait that we, the Xue, hold dear. We would be honored to let you join our sacred blood pact, what do you say?" Eagerly, I consented. That day I entered a bond that will last longer than time itself, and I finally found my home. --Vege T'able Xue |
