My first memories are of tall mountains and flowering trees that bordered the roads in Kaya. I was raised by my mother and father there as K'midri (SaltyHorse is a nickname given by my baby brother when I was older), with my brother Taliesen and my sister Aensity. My father was a Colonel in the army and so my mother raised us alone for long spans of time. I lived in that distant land for two-and-twenty years, learning the art of war and battle under my father's wing (such improper acts for a women were taught at our summer home, in the far mountains). Soon, Kaya had little left to offer me, and so I left the place on my bay war destrier, Book.
I traveled for ten months, celebrating my twenty-third birthday as I passed through the Western gate of Kugnae's capital. The rain was hard and oppressive that night, and I pounded through the city as fast as Book would manage. We came up outside the lady Ginger's Inn, and I tethered Book under the eaves. I stayed at the Inn for a few days, learning about the City I was in (Koguryo, apparently), the year and recent news (it was the late King Yuri's 37th year of reign) and that my training in Kaya meant nothing in that place.
A stout old man named Ironheart trained me for a long while, teaching me the basics of everything in the Two Kingdoms that made up the realm I had entered. For years, I never sought to learn past forty or so insights. I joined the Kugnae Royal Army in hopes of something familiar. I met many men and women there, but was forced to leave when the General thought I had disrespected her. After that, I started spending a great deal of time at the Tree of Reflections, towards the Eastern Gate in Koguryo. There I met Leodaris, and we became fast friends. She adopted me after a few moons, and all was well. I was hesitant to call myself by Our name, because I never felt that such an insignificant warrior could be a daughter and sister to the great citizens that also took the name Xing.
Not long after Leodaris started giving me a hand in the world, I met a warrior named Raquil. He informed me that he was no normal warrior, but instead, one of the sacred Chongun, protectors of the Kingdom. Under his wing, I learned the ways of the Chongun with my dearest friend MechWar. I was thirty-five then.
Since I found the Chongun and Leodaris (and subsequently Vini), I also became a kindred of Oceana, a Clan that I love. I have held a council position there for many years, and will turn seventy soon. Leodaris helped me when I was young, and she continues to give me advice and wisdom when I am old. My brother came to the Kingdoms not long ago, I recently found, though Aensity remains behind, having passed on in Kaya. I often go back to my childhood home to see our mountain cottage and reside in meditation. However, I no longer call it home, preferring shining Koguryo and my family, with Leo. I am no longer afraid that I do not deserve my name, but instead say it with pride.
