The members of the Solinarus family have one thing in common: loyalty. Loyalty to each other, loyalty to their chosen paths, loyalty to our greater purpose of providing service to others that have felt the wants of poverty and the sadness of isolation the way the members of the Solinarus have in our own distant pasts.

I am the matron of the Solinarus family and as such the keeper of its history. I once thought I was a hopeless cause, forever to be alone and purposeless in the world, but through my marriage to Erucolindo things have changed for good. I was born in the Spring of Yuri 61 to an impoverished Sanhae family. My mother died in bringing me to life, and although my father taught me his trade and saw to my needs, he was resentful towards me my whole young life. We maintained a tense, quiet, but respectful relationship until his death. I never really realized how he loved me until he needlessly sacrificied his life saving me from bandits along the road from the Wilderness to our Village. As I held his dying shell in my arms I swore an oath to myself to never let love pass me by unexpressed again.

But there was noone to love. I was alone in the world. I lived in my families house for years, keeping no company, using my own means to feed and clothe myself for many Yuris, until one day in the dead of winter Erucolindo came into my life. While walking in the Arctic Land, my keen eyesight noticed movement off the path. As I cautiously approached, I saw splatters of blood marring the pristine white snow. There was a yound soldier, in the uniform of the Buyan Imperial Army, lying crumpled and broken in a drift of snow. I looked into his half-opened, glazed eyes and I saw the terror of impending death. Visions of my father flashed through my head, nearly paralyzing me. The next thing I knew, without even thinking, I used all my strength to gather the man into my arms and carry him to my home. It was several long nights and days before my mysterious young soldier regained his consciousness.

As I nursed him, I talked endlessly of Sanhae, of my father, of my lonely life. I tried everything to keep his mind engaged. And one day, when he was able to speak once more he started to tell me of who he was, I began to realize how similiar our lives have been. When he was just a child, his family fled their native Paekjae in the dark of night, along with his three younger siblings. His parents never reached their promised land--Buya-- but died nearly a week distant in a raid on their caravan. It was up to my young soldier to trudge on with his orpahned brothers and sister.

He lived the life of a street urchin in Buya, forgaing to feed his family. After many months of difficulties, an old man, a retired Buyan Soldier, took pity on the children and took them into his home. He had one condition for them: when they reached maturation they would enlist and serve Buya as he once did many Yuris past. Erucolindo stood fast by his family name even while living as another man's son; he had rescued an amulet with the name emblazoned in gold, his father's most prized possesion--Solinarus.

It came time for my young soldier to return home to Buya and the army. He was sure he was considered dead and he worried about the grief he may have brought upon his family. As he gathered his belongings I instinctively started collecting mine as well. I had fallen for him, it was true, but his story had filled me with desire to see Buya and dedicate myself to the Kingdom the way he had. Before we left Sanhae, we married in a private ceremony and began our life together.

Erucolindo was welcomed back with joy, and his brothers and sister accepted me with open arms. It has been nearly 12 Yuris, and our family has prospered as a unit. Our familial bond has grown in strength. I have become a mother, giving birth to a son, and I have accepted as my own children others who have suffered in lonliness the way my husband and I once did. Each member of our family offers something unique, yet we are all similiar. Kirch, one of Erucolindo's brothers, is strong and protective, especially of his sister and me. Hunney brings beauty and joy to our everyday toils. Keldon is the jokester, but yet when it comes to his quest for self-betterment, he can be very serious. Of our children, two are adopted: AmonZul and SimeontheRed. AmonZul is still so young and wide -eyed at the world, he sees the Kingdoms through a childs eyes. SimeontheRed is dedicated to fulfilling his dream of becoming a Druid, and teaches us all something knew everyday about our place with nature. And Andaer-- what to say about one's own offspring? He holds a special place in my heart.

Both my husband and myself have prospered in the Buyan Imperial Army, achieving posts of responsibility. We two started something much bigger than just ourselves in those days of his convalescence in Sanhae...and as we grow older and our family expands, we hope to be able to bring our story, our success, and our unique dedication to helping others to the greater community of our Kingdoms.

-=The Meaning of Solinarus=-
This is still up to some debate. My husband has been pouring through records and what few family documents he thought to save as a child after his parents passing. In the native tongue of Paekjae, however, he remembers that the root of our name, "Soli-," refers to Alone. However, the ending of the name "-rus" he knows to meen community. So it would seem "Solinarus" means Community of Those That are Alone. This, I think, is very appropriate-- through our family, we have all found others to share our feelings of isolation..
