Morteus, though blind, quite deadly. Rumors have been formed on exactly how he sees, the one closest to the truth is he is so keen with the Ravens, they see for him. Ravens...a magical bird, through their eyes you can see into the thoughts of another individual. Morteus is a being from the depths of Purgatory, commonly used as an assassin to dispose of corrupt Demons. It is rumored he is human, blessed by Morrigan and Cernunnos, themselves. I hardly believe that rumor, how could a mere mortal wield a sword with such power? How could a mere mortal brandish such magical abilities? His sword, a Gift from Hades, was said to of been lighter then any other sword giving it ease to wield, yet only Morteus can lay his hands on it. Morteus is quite a powerful individual, but not unstoppable.

Morteus is son of Lucifer's aide, Asmodeus. His Mother was Arawn, goddess of the Dead and Purgatory. Early in his youth, he mastered the skill of combat with blades, particurally the 'Kiss of Hades', a gift bestowed upon him by Hades for the assassination of his father, Asmodeus, and his uncle, Belzebuth. Such a battle is was too, a scorned son following the orders of Abaddon, Head of Moranus, in an epic battle against two of the most powerful individuals to walk the planet. How was it done? Simply, Hades' blade was crafted to poison and cinge even a Demon's hide. They underestimated him, and in doing so, met there death.

Soon after the death of his father, he was highered to assassinate a Seraphim, the highest rank of Celestial being. The Angel was the third Head of Moranus, Angelicus, who assassinated Azrael, second Head, to gain his rank. Tiamat asked Morteus to destroy this Seraphim and take his seat on the Head of Moranus with Tiamat as his Archangel. Morpheus, though skilled with a blade, was also magically inclined. He was a top ranked Necromancer, and used his powers of the Dead to destroy Angelicus. After the assassination, like promised, Morteus took Head of Moranus. Soon after, Tiamat passed away into the spirit realm of Purgatory and was replaced by Druid Deavin. After Morteus assassinated Angelicus, a Nangen Rebel woman appeared, Kralana. Morteus and Kralana soon grew quite close and Morteus took her in as his wife and Lady of Moranus.

Morteus then set off to Earth to find some suitable creatures there. He found Dryad Kaney, a powerful Dryad of the Trees; and Syth, a direct relative to Angelicus without the previous wickedness. Morteus joined a clan called “The Forsaken Clan” and met a young woman named Rowena who soon became a member of Moranus too. While residing in the wilderness Morteus met Cybertooth, a young lycanthrope whom he took in and took care of. In a meeting for the New and Improved House of Moranus a being of Chaos and great power entered the Meeting Hall and killed all of Morteus’ opposers, this being was DoomMage.
