  MyunHoo

The woman laid on the beach, watching the sunset slowly creep up from the ocean.

She dug her fingers deep into the sand, shoved her stick into her mouth again and screamed.

A moment passed..two..

She relaxed herself and wiped the sweat from her forehead.

-"Don't worry.. I got you" She mumbled under her breath and stroke her stomach.

The soft sound of the waves soothed her, the smell of the seaweed and the warmth from the sand was filling her nostrils.

She took a deep breath through her nose, and squinted her eyes towards the sun rays that surrounded her in a warm light.

Silence..  and then another scream that would wake men and women sleeping from miles around..

MyunHoo ran the fastest he could, his legs felt lame behind him as he dashed between the trees top speed.

He laughed and swung a young branch back at whoever was chasing him. You could hear a loud *SNAP*

And someone whine, followed by a sadistic laughter disappearing further and further away.

Myun turned around to see where his friend was, but it was completely silent around him. He sharpened his ears and eyes and tried to see any sign of his friend, but there was none.

Quickly he started to run back, calling out his name.

His heart started pounding, panic rising in his throat making it impossible to breathe.

It only took one second, a hand slipping forth to grab his ancle from the bushes and BAM he was on his back.

The young boy laughed at him and helped Myun up from the ground.

"You will never be able to sneak up on me!"

He gave Myun a smug grin and then stopped mid'smile to stare at something between the trees. Myun turned around to see what his friend was looking at. There was an old overgrown cave, had they not been standing so close it wouldnt have been seen at all.

The boys gave eachother one look, and went straight into the cave. The sight that met them though, was nothing they had expected. The cave was warm and lit up with hundreds of torches along the cave walls. There were big stone carved statues, standing and guarding the entrance like hollow ghosts.

In the centre, they saw an arena..

There were a few people in the cave already, standing up against the arena fence, watching something intensely.

Nobody even flinched when they called out "Whats going on?"

They looked at eachother with question and walked up to the fence to see what they were watching.

Myuns eyes changed from confusion to awe in a heartbeat.

In the middle of the arena he saw a barbarian girl, tossing around a ox boss like it was her dolly.

She jumped away to the side gracefully, dancing around the Ox, teasing it.

For a split second she looked up to stroke away the hair and sweat from her face. But her eyes met another pair.

She looked at him and he felt as if she had stared right into his very soul.

She quickly moved to the side to avoid another attack, and then jumped up and smashed her axe into the ox's skull.

There was a loud crack, and the beast fell heavily to the ground. Myun tilted his head and followed her steps out of the arena.

-"Ahahaha you should see the look on your face! come on you dont stand a chance! let's go." Myun heard his friends words like he was speaking with a mouthfull of cotton.

He shook his head slightly, as if he was trying to shake off an annoying fly, and then walked after her.

He walked down further into the cave, and there by the bottom stood a small group of people, shattering enthusiasticly.

The girl sat on one knee on the ground, tying her boots tighter and listening to her companions when she saw him approach them.

They all silenced at once, and just turned slowly.

Staring at him untill he felt so uncomfortable that he walked back to his friend.

"-Told you.." His friend grinned at him and winked.

But Myun would not have this. He was going to talk to her one way or another.

They spent the night in the cave, and Myun watched on a distance as they set up a fire in the cave, someone came in carrying a big boar and some brew.

Every now and then, he would catch a glimpse of her eye.

She looked at him long and hard without blinking for almost a minute and then turned to her companions to respond to something they said.

When morning came Myun found himself alone.

His friend had been picked up by a drunken barbarian woman the night before and he had no idea where he was now.

He looked down at the neat blanket that was tugged around him.

It was dark brown with little peices of green moss in it.

And it had a flowery smell to it, nothing you would believe belonged in a barbarian cave.

He removed the blanket, tossed it aside and stretched slowly.

He yawned widely and cracked his neck.

And then he felt a wiff, the same smell he felt on the blanket but much more concentrated.

He looked up and got startled as he saw the barbarian girl lean against the wall right next to him.

She turned her head to the side and looked at the blanket.

-"That's no way to treat a gift is it now?"

Myun stumbled across his own words in an attempt to explain himself, but she just laughed it off.

When the laughter stopped they found eachothers eyes again, seconds, minutes? He had no idea how much time passed before she walked up to him in silence and sat down next to him.

They smiled at eachother, and almost chuckled.

As if they had a secret.
