  Kururugi
Who am I? Where did I come from? These are questions that Kira Kururugi asked himself everyday of his childhood. In the home of Caramon La Sand, he was brought to the front door by a woman one night. The humble Man Caramon take the 6 year old boy in and raised him as his own. Kira doesn't know anything about his life before living with the man he would call his father. His father was what many called a barbarian. Living in the wilderness and standing seven feet tall, it was easy to see why. He was not too bad with a sword either. From an early age he taught Kira how to parry and thrust, how to find an opponents weakness just by that method. It was the early beginings to a future warrior.

Caramon had two other children, Ghaleon and Crucible La Sand. Brothers in name only, for they were as far apart as two could be. Ghaleon liked to read and study the mystic arts, but Crucible enjoyed sword play as much as his father. But underneath it all, he had a crooked smile that revealed the snake behind it. Ghaleon was as queit as a chruch mouse, never saying much, but when he did, you listened. For what he said usualy held great wisdom.

The woman who took Kira to the La Sand house often came to visit him. During these times she made sure he was well, and to see that he learned a little about the world around. But when he was sixteen he was accepted as an apprientce by a wandering Do. Under this wanders training he honed his sword skills to fine point. He also learned the way to find a peaceful soul. With was a life of simplicty that filled him with total content.

Returning home one day to visit his stepfather he met with a horror. Ghaleon who had been abroad in the world honing his magic had returned. Now this wouldn't have been so bad, except that he had nearly killed his father and brother and took the woman who had brought Kira there hostage. Kira fought Ghaleon with all his might to free her from his grasp. During the battle it was learned that the woman was a  celestrial being,  Ghaleon's was plan was to use her to obtain even greater power. Kira wasn't going to allow that. The battle that insued was fierce and no one not even Kira himself know's exactly what happened. It was a haze of slashing and parrying magic. In the end, Kira killed the woman....it wasn't what he wanted. But she insisted, it was the only why to stop Ghaleon. He had been tapping her power, drawing unlimited magic from her. And with her gone, Ghaleon could be stopped. Upon her death Kira quickly finished the fight. Sending Ghaleon to whatever awaited him in his after life.

Kira could no longer live his life as a Do, it was time for him to choose a side. Seeing the horrors of what evil can do, he decided to dedicte his life to protect others. On a trip to Kugnae, he became impressed with King M'hul and he generousity. He quickly joined the army to serve a man such as him.

He quickly found that he enjoyed the life of a soldier. But their was one soldier who stood out to Kira, a man by the name of Deimos. Deimos was a brillant soldier in both strategy and fighting prowless. And it didn't take long for Kira to reconize that he could learn a lot from a man like him. So it was that he began to learn the way of a man of honor from him. I few years rolled by in this way, with Kira learning all he could from him, until...he recived a letter saying that his stepfather had been killed.

Kira rushed to be there for the funeral, Deimos acompanied him. With his father buried, Kira felt as if he had lost the last remaining family he had. But Deimos had other plans. Taking him by the arm he asked if he could take the dead man's place. That he was a career soldier and wouldn't be able to have a family of his own, but he would be proud to have a son like him. Kira accpeted without hesitation, for he respected this man greatly. Hijo Kururugi was born that day, and as long as he is here he will always defend the honor of the Hijo family. For Hijo Kururugi is a man of honor. He is not one to let other suffer while he can do anything about it. Deimos has told him on more than one occasion that he is too stubburn about lending his help. For he is naive and gives his help to those you don't even ask. So it sometimes leads to trouble, which annoys somepeople to no ends.
