Assassin:
It has recently come to the attention of the Monk Guild that there are members of the community who seek only to kill with no purpose, reason, or vindiction other than to kill.  This is not the way of the Monk, and we feel it is our duty to stamp out this attrocity of the Kingdom.

Gathering:
Weekly discussions of different topics usually having something to do with Monks, how they live, and how they act. Some of the past topics were Karma, The Four Noble Truths, sparring vs. violence.

Pebble Toss:
One must have good patience and hand-eye coordination to be able to toss a simple pebble across a room through three or for Monks.  Only five pebbles are allowed to be thrown, and players must stay on the throwing line.  Prizes will be given to those who can throw the pebbles the farthest.

Jan Ken Pon:
The game is simple; there are three objects, a rock, a paper, and scissors. Rock dulls Scissors. Paper covers Rock. Scissors cut Paper. All games will be best two out of three (not including ties.) Unless decided differently before the start. These are usually in a tournament type form.

Service Hour:
A great group of Monks is reading karma, giving item blessings, and handing out free advice to any passer-bys.  If you don't need any of those things, you can always just stop by to chat with us.

Story Contest:
The Monks hold a weekly story contest with a subject somehow related to our path.  Your story will be published in our library, and we will pick three storys each week as our place winners.  Even if you don't win, your story will be preseved for years to come.

Three Poisons:
There are three Monk volunteers that represent one of three poisons: Greed, Anger, and Intolerance. Once a participant discovers the location of each Monk, they are to write the host a letter including which poison the Monk is, and where they were found. Prizes are awarded for the first three winners.

The Lotus Dojo

The Monk's new room the Lotus Dojo has finally been completed and is now open to the public! To get there, walk from East Gate Kugnae to Dae shore. Follow the path strait north over the bridge into the Wisdom's Ascent cave (40,10). Once inside, take a quick right (to 0,28) and you're here!

As for uses, of course there are a million different ways this room can be used.  It's larger than the Bodhi Sanctum, but it still has a wide open space in it.  It also features a stage/observation area that can only be accessed by Monks.

When we choose, this can be turned into a Monk-friendly arena environment with many different options of play.  The guides are in control of the room settings which include the following:
Nuisances, lighting effects, arena settings, and of course spell, potion and scroll use.  Since this gives us so many options, I'm sure we'll be able to come up with some great events in the future.

Bodhi Sanctum

I have been maintaining a wealth of knowledge about the history of the nexus, and the people who live here.  The Bodhi Sanctum is a vast library for everyone.

((The website http://www.bodhisanctum.com is designed to keep records of character and family histories of anyone in the kingdoms.  To submit your story, register account with your character's name (please use a distinct pass for safety), go to the submit story link on the main menu (you must be registered) and it will be waiting for approval.

Since this is also the website of the Monks, you will find plenty of great reading material and resources about who we are and what we are about.

KRU Approved URL))

Sincerely,
-Berig
